After Surgery

Your Information

After your surgery at Trinity Health, your surgeon will speak with your family about what was done during your operation. We encourage them to write down what the surgeon says so that they can share the information with you when you’re awake.

You will go to the recovery room for the anesthetic to wear off. After, you will be taken to the post-operative unit or an inpatient unit until you’re able to go home.

You and your family member(s) will receive instructions about what you may or may not do after surgery at home, for example, how to best care for your incision, medications that may be new to you, activity allowed after surgery.
